AI Literacy Step-by-Step Approach

Organizations have to ensure that employees are AI-literate. The AI Act requires this. Pylets can help. We developed the following approach consisting of four phases:

Step 1: Identify

  • Map out which AI systems are being used within the organization.

  • Analyze the risks and impact of these systems.

  • Identify which employees work directly with AI and what their roles are.

Step 2: Define Objectives

  • Determine what AI knowledge and which tools are needed for each relevant employee.

Step 3: Implement

  • Decide on strategies and actions based on the defined objectives.

  • Train employees in AI literacy, with attention to ethical, legal, and technical aspects.

  • Optionally, appoint an AI officer and draft a vision document on the use of AI within the organization.

Step 4: Evaluate

  • Monitor whether AI literacy is being maintained and analyze whether the objectives are being met through reports and audits.

  • Assess whether the measures actually increase knowledge levels, for example, through annual surveys.

  • Ensure that AI literacy remains a continuous process and is embedded within the organization.
